Terms of Service
Last updated: 13 October 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Janemoney, including its website, AI assistant, financial analysis tools, connected account features, and related services.
By accessing or using Janemoney, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. About Janemoney
Janemoney is a personal finance service designed to help users organise financial information, understand their finances, analyse investments, and explore financial decisions through AI-powered tools and supported integrations.
Features may include:
- AI-powered personal finance conversations.
- Analysis of financial documents and bank statements.
- Financial information extraction from supported connected accounts.
- Investment and portfolio analysis through supported integrations.
- Tax-related information and filing assistance.
- Connections to third-party financial services, where available.
Features may change, be restricted, or become unavailable as the service develops. Not every feature is necessarily available to every user.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You may use Janemoney only if you are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement and your use is permitted by applicable law.
You agree to provide accurate information when creating or using an account and to keep relevant account information up to date.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for activity carried out through it, except to the extent that applicable law provides otherwise. You must promptly notify us if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your account, investigate misuse, protect the service, or meet legal obligations.
3. Using Janemoney
You may use Janemoney for lawful personal financial organisation, analysis, and informational purposes.
You agree not to:
- Use Janemoney for fraud, unlawful activity, impersonation, or financial misconduct.
- Access accounts, documents, or information that you are not authorised to access.
- Submit information that you know is false or misleading for the purpose of deceiving others or abusing the service.
- Attempt to bypass security controls, interfere with the service, or access systems without authorisation.
- Introduce malicious code, conduct unauthorised security testing, or disrupt the service.
- Scrape, copy, reverse engineer, or exploit Janemoney except where permitted by applicable law.
- Use Janemoney in a manner that violates another person's rights, applicable law, or the terms of a connected service.
- Use the service to develop or facilitate prohibited, deceptive, or unlawful activities.
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address a breach of these Terms, security concerns, suspected fraud, legal requirements, or risks to other users or the service.
4. AI-generated information
Janemoney uses AI technology to interpret information and generate responses. AI-generated content may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or based on incorrect assumptions.
You should treat responses as informational assistance rather than as verified facts or guaranteed conclusions. You are responsible for reviewing important outputs and checking them against reliable records before acting on them.
Janemoney may make mistakes when extracting information from documents, identifying transactions, interpreting financial records, calculating estimates, or summarising investment and tax information. You should verify material figures, dates, classifications, and calculations.
You should not rely on an AI response as the sole basis for a significant financial, investment, tax, or legal decision.
5. Financial information and investment decisions
Janemoney helps you understand and analyse financial information. Unless a specific service is expressly described and authorised otherwise, the service does not act as your bank, broker, lender, portfolio manager, investment adviser, or fiduciary.
Information and analysis provided by Janemoney are not, by themselves, personalised investment recommendations or a guarantee that an investment is suitable for you.
We do not guarantee investment performance, returns, capital protection, liquidity, or the accuracy of market information. Investments may lose value, and past performance does not guarantee future results.
You remain responsible for evaluating your financial circumstances, investment objectives, risk tolerance, and the consequences of any decision. Where appropriate, consult a suitably qualified and authorised professional.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude any regulatory obligation that applies to a service Janemoney actually provides.
6. Tax assistance
Janemoney may help you organise tax-related information, interpret documents, estimate tax figures, and prepare information relevant to filing a tax return.
Tax outcomes depend on the accuracy and completeness of the information available, applicable law, and your individual circumstances. AI-generated tax explanations or estimates may contain errors and should be checked before use.
You are responsible for reviewing your tax information and confirming that any return or declaration is complete and accurate before submission.
Janemoney's tax assistance does not, by itself, constitute a guarantee of tax compliance or a substitute for professional advice where that is needed. Janemoney does not currently submit an income tax return on your behalf through its own service.
Any filing completed through a separate government portal, professional, or third-party service remains subject to that service's process and terms.
7. Connected accounts and third-party services
Janemoney may allow you to connect supported services, including Google accounts, Gmail, investment platforms, and financial data-sharing services.
When you connect a service, you authorise the access and actions described in the relevant consent screen, permission request, or feature flow. The information available to Janemoney depends on the permissions granted, the connected provider, and the feature being used.
You must have the right to access and share the information you connect or upload. You must not use Janemoney to access another person's account or financial information without valid authority.
Connected services may impose separate terms, consent requirements, security procedures, eligibility criteria, or restrictions. You are responsible for reviewing those requirements where relevant.
Third-party services may change their APIs, permissions, availability, or terms, which may affect Janemoney's features. We do not control the independent operation of those services.
We may suspend or remove an integration where necessary for security, compliance, provider restrictions, or service reliability.
8. Google and Gmail access
If you choose to connect Google or Gmail, access is governed by the permissions you grant and Google's applicable terms and policies.
Depending on the feature and authorisation, Janemoney may access relevant email content to identify financial documents or transaction-related information and present insights within the service.
You can disconnect Google access or revoke authorisation through the available controls. Revoking access prevents future access through that authorisation once revocation takes effect. It does not necessarily delete information previously received or stored by Janemoney.
To request deletion of stored information, follow the account deletion process or contact our support team.
Our use of Google user data remains subject to Google's applicable API policies, including the Google API Services User Data Policy and its Limited Use requirements. Nothing in these Terms expands the permissions granted by Google or overrides Google's policies.
9. Financial transactions and connected investment accounts
Some integrations may provide read access to financial information. Other features, where expressly enabled, may support actions through a connected provider.
Where a feature enables a financial or investment transaction, the available actions, permissions, confirmation steps, and applicable provider terms will govern that functionality. You must review transaction details and provide any required authorisation before an action is submitted.
You are responsible for reviewing orders, instructions, account selections, amounts, and other transaction details before confirming them. We do not guarantee that a provider will accept or execute an instruction, or that an instruction will be processed at a particular price or time.
Transactions may be delayed, rejected, reversed, or affected by market conditions, provider systems, regulatory requirements, or circumstances outside Janemoney's control.
You should check the relevant provider's records to confirm the status and outcome of a transaction. Disputes concerning the execution, settlement, or handling of a transaction may also require you to contact the relevant provider.
Janemoney will not represent that a transaction has succeeded unless the available system information supports that status.
10. Your documents and information
You retain the rights you have in documents, messages, and other content that you provide to Janemoney.
You grant Janemoney permission to process that content as reasonably necessary to provide the features you request, maintain the service, protect its operation, and meet applicable legal obligations, subject to our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
You confirm that you have the rights and authority required to provide the information and permit the processing described above.
You should not upload information that you are not authorised to share or that is unrelated to the feature you are using.
Information derived from your documents or connected accounts may contain extraction errors or incorrect classifications. You should review important derived information before relying on it.
11. Privacy and data handling
Our Privacy Policy explains how Janemoney collects, uses, stores, shares, and deletes personal information.
Your use of features involving personal information is also subject to that policy and any additional disclosures or consents presented when you use the relevant feature.
You can request account deletion and exercise applicable privacy rights through the processes described in our Privacy Policy and Data Deletion page.
Disconnecting an integration and deleting your Janemoney account are different actions. Disconnecting a provider stops future access through the relevant authorisation once revoked, but may not remove information already stored by Janemoney.
12. Availability and changes
We aim to maintain a useful and reliable service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or compatibility with every device, provider, or account.
Features may be changed, updated, suspended, or discontinued. We may perform maintenance, apply security updates, or restrict access to address technical, legal, regulatory, or provider-related requirements.
We will not use this section to exclude responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Fees and paid features
If Janemoney introduces a paid feature or subscription, the applicable price, billing terms, renewal arrangements, cancellation process, and any additional conditions will be presented before you agree to purchase it.
You are responsible for charges that you expressly authorise, subject to applicable law and the terms presented at the time of purchase.
These Terms do not create a charge for a feature that has not been presented to you as a paid feature.
14. Intellectual property
Janemoney and its associated software, design, branding, interfaces, and original content are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended lawful purpose.
You may not copy, distribute, sell, sublicense, or create derivative works from Janemoney's proprietary materials except where we permit it or applicable law allows it.
These Terms do not transfer ownership of your own documents or information to Janemoney. Third-party services and materials remain subject to their respective rights and terms.
15. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Janemoney at any time. You may also request deletion of your account through the available account controls or by contacting support.
We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of a breach of these Terms, suspected unlawful activity, a security risk, a legal or regulatory requirement, or the discontinuation of a feature or service.
Where reasonably practicable and legally permitted, we will provide notice or an opportunity to address the issue before restricting access. Immediate action may be necessary in urgent security or legal situations.
Termination does not automatically delete all information associated with your account. Deletion is handled under our Privacy Policy and Data Deletion page, subject to applicable legal retention requirements.
Terms that by their nature should continue after termination, including provisions relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, and disputes, will continue to the extent permitted by law.
16. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Janemoney is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not warrant that the service will always be available, that all information will be accurate or complete, or that every error will be corrected immediately.
We do not guarantee any financial outcome, investment return, tax result, transaction execution, or uninterrupted connection to a third-party service.
The service is intended to support your understanding of financial information, not to remove the need for your own judgement or verification.
Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, right, remedy, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.
17. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Janemoney will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from your use of the service, including loss of profits, opportunities, or data, where such exclusion is legally enforceable.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate information you provide, your failure to verify AI-generated outputs, independent third-party service failures, market movements, or decisions you make without appropriate review.
This section does not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit.
Nothing in these Terms removes rights or remedies available to consumers under mandatory law.
18. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you are responsible for losses and claims arising directly from your unlawful use of Janemoney, your material breach of these Terms, or your infringement of another person's rights.
This section does not require you to indemnify Janemoney for losses caused by our own unlawful conduct or liabilities that cannot lawfully be transferred to you.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the service, features, applicable law, or operational requirements.
We will publish the revised Terms and update the relevant date or version information. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will provide additional notice or seek consent where required by law.
Your continued use of Janemoney after revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree to a change, you should stop using the affected service.
20. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, subject to any mandatory legal protections that apply to you.
Disputes relating to these Terms will be handled by courts or other forums with jurisdiction under applicable law. Nothing in this section limits a consumer's right to approach a competent consumer forum or exercise another remedy available under applicable law.
We encourage you to contact us first so that we can understand and attempt to resolve your concern.
