How to cancel Duolingo Super

To cancel your Duolingo Super subscription, open the Duolingo app, tap the Super icon, go to Settings, tap Manage subscription, and confirm cancellation on the Play Store, App Store, or web where you first bought it.

Steps to cancel Duolingo Super

  1. Open the Duolingo app.
  2. Tap the Super icon at the top of the home screen.
  3. Tap Settings (gear icon).
  4. Tap Manage subscription.
  5. Select Cancel subscription and proceed to cancel.
  6. Confirm cancellation through Google Play Store or App Store or Alipay.

Before you cancel

  • Refunds: Canceling your subscription will not retroactively refund subscription payments, and previously charged fees cannot be prorated.
  • Free trial: Free trials automatically turn into a paid subscription unless canceled before the trial period ends (at least 24 hours prior on Apple devices).
  • Deleting the app or your account does not cancel your subscription.
  • You must cancel through the same platform where you originally started the subscription (such as Google Play, App Store, or web browser).
  • If you are on a Family plan, only the family manager who pays can cancel the plan; members cannot cancel for the group.

Paid through UPI AutoPay? Cancel the mandate too

Cancelling Duolingo Super ends the membership. If you paid with UPI AutoPay, the mandate that lets Duolingo Super debit your account is separate, and it lives in the UPI app you approved it in. Open that app’s AutoPay list and cancel the Duolingo Super mandate as well.

Will deleting the Duolingo app or account cancel my subscription?

No. Deleting the app or removing your account leaves your billing active. You must cancel the subscription directly through the platform you used to buy it.

How do I cancel a Duolingo Super free trial before getting charged?

Cancel it inside your app store or Duolingo account before the trial period finishes. On Apple devices, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid being billed.

Can I get a refund after Duolingo charges me?

Duolingo does not provide retroactive refunds or prorate previously charged fees once a billing cycle starts. Canceling simply stops future charges.

How do I cancel a Duolingo Family plan?

Only the family manager who pays for the plan can cancel it. Other members of the group cannot modify or end the subscription.
