Questions people ask

Can I cancel an HDFC e-mandate using the mobile app?

Yes. Open the HDFC Mobile Banking app and navigate to BillPay & Recharge or Autopay to locate and cancel your instruction.

Will I be charged again after requesting NACH mandate cancellation?

A debit can still happen if it was queued before your request was finalized. NACH mandate cancellations take up to 7 working days to complete processing.

Why is there no option to cancel my mandate online?

Some standing instructions and ECS mandates cannot be stopped online and require visiting an HDFC Bank branch. If submitting a physical cancellation form at a branch, submit it at least 5 working days before the next debit.

What happens to my loan or SIP when I cancel the mandate?

Stopping the mandate only prevents automated debits from your bank account. It does not cancel your underlying dues or subscription, so check the merchant or lender platform to arrange another payment method.

Can I get a refund for an automatic debit processed during cancellation?

The bank does not reverse debits that were scheduled before mandate cancellation finished processing. Check with the billing merchant or service provider to request a refund.
