Steps to cancel recurring payments on a credit or debit card

  1. Open the link provided in the pre-debit notification SMS or email, or visit your card issuer's mandate management portal.
  2. Log in to the portal by entering your card number.
  3. Select the standing instruction or recurring payment you want to cancel.
  4. Confirm the withdrawal or cancellation through Additional Factor of Authentication (AFA/OTP) validation.

Before you cancel

  • The bank cannot cancel or modify standing instructions on the customer's behalf; it must be done by the customer through the portal.
  • A pipeline transaction may still go through if the pre-transaction alert has been sent and withdrawal takes place in the interim before debit confirmation.
  • If the Mandate ID begins with 'IC', access Mandate HQ; otherwise, access the SI Hub portal.

Questions people ask

Can my bank cancel credit card autopay for me?

No. The bank cannot cancel or modify standing instructions on your behalf. You must log in to the mandate management portal with your card details and confirm the cancellation yourself.

Why was my credit card charged after I cancelled?

A pipeline transaction may still go through if the pre-transaction notification was already sent before you withdrew the instruction. Debits scheduled after the cancellation is confirmed will not occur.

Is pausing a card mandate the same as cancelling it?

No. Pausing or opting out only applies a temporary halt to that specific debit. The standing instruction stays active on your card until you formally cancel it.

Which mandate management portal do I log into?

Check your Mandate ID from your debit notification. If it begins with IC, access Mandate HQ; otherwise, log in to the SI Hub portal.

Does cancelling a standing instruction issue a refund?

No. Cancelling a mandate only prevents future debits to your card or wallet. For charges that have already been debited, check the refund terms in the merchant app.
